Nefyn Golf Club, located in the North West of Wales on the Llyn Peninsula, offers perhaps the most stunning setting for a round of golf in Wales. The run of holes on the peninsula offer cliff-top locations for your tee shots where you play into a howling wind with absolutely no idea of club selection whatsoever. If ever there was a dramatic course that deserved more respect than it gets then Nefyn is surely it. The holes along the peninsula are quite superb and will live long in the memory.
Bull Bay has the honour of being Wales’ most northern golf course, enjoying a clifftop location near Amlwch on Anglesey island’s northern coast. There are wonderful views of the Isle of Man and the Mountains of Snowdonia and, on a clear day, the Lake District. The terrain is naturally rugged with plenty of hollows. In fact, on Bull Bay, eleven of the greens are above you as you play your approach shots so only the most accurate of shots from inside 150 yards will suffice. You also have to drive from elevated tees to the fairway below and some of the views from these positions are spectacular.

Situated on the spectacular northern coastline of the Llŷn Peninsula, Nefyn’s 27 hole championship layout, offers golfers a rich variety of challenges and rewards.
We will be playing the ‘Point’ holes first, these are sometimes referred to as the Welsh ‘Pebble Beach‘ but it is more akin to Ireland’s ‘Old Head of Kinsale‘. The nine holes of narrow fairways and elevated tees and greens run along the narrow peninsula that leads to Porthdinllaen and to the lifeboat station.
Combined with the predominant westerly winds, not only is it visually spectacular, but it is truly a test of your golfing ability as well as your nerve. A head for heights is required.
We’ll then move on and play as our back nine, the original front nine, which opens with a gentle downhill par 4 as you make your way north towards the Irish Sea. What then follows is a series of testing holes that run along the rugged coastline with good line and length needed to reach the greens in regulation. Accuracy is the name of the game here because any stray shots will see your ball end up in the Irish sea.

Bull Bay is not only the best golf course on the Isle of Anglesey but it can rightly claim to be one of Wales’ finest.
Few places can rival the spectacular setting of this established, 18 hole, championship course. Laid out above the rugged coastline on the beautiful holiday island of Anglesey, every tee commands panoramic views over the Isle of Anglesey to the mountains of Snowdonia, or over the Irish Sea to the Isle of Man, or even to the distant hills of the Lake District.
This Herbert Fowler designed course climbs and falls, twists and turns, through valleys and on plateau, between rocky outcrops and areas of gorse – a spectacular setting for a memorable game of golf. The nature of the land and the mild climate offers around-the-year golf whilst the modern Clubhouse with its superb facilities, guarantee every visitor a very warm welcome and excellent value for money.

Steeped in tradition and royal history, the Celtic Royal Hotel is situated in Caernarfon centre, just a 10-minute walk from Caernarfon Harbour. The bright and airy bedrooms all feature tea/coffee facilities, a TV and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. The Celtic Royal Leisure Centre features an indoor heated swimming pool and a fully equipped fitness suite. Guests can relax in the sauna or steam room.
Behind its historic façade, the splendour of a royal story can be found. In 1832, Princess Victoria (soon to be Queen Victoria) and her mother stayed within the hotel’s very walls, earning it its deserved regal title.
Even though the courses we're playing are pretty much guaranteed that they will be open if there is wet weather, snow would inevitably close the course. In the unlikely event of this happening, you must all be aware that you may well lose your deposits. The hotel are unlikely to accept a cancellation at very short notice, so the choice would be to either travel to the hotel for a non-golfing get-together or stay at home but still pay for the hotel.
